VistaDB 2.1 released

October 18th, 2005

Major VistaDB 2.1 free update now available for download. Release 2.1 features over 50 improvements and fixes throughout the entire product line. We highly recommend that all users download this update. A number of key improvements were made to support .NET 2.0 and to integrate the VistaDB ADO.NET Provider into Visual Studio 2005 (Beta 2). Other enhancements were made to the core engine and SQL-92 query processor.

Free 2-User VistaDB Server now included!

In addition to the native embedded database engine support provided by VistaDB, this 2.1 release includes the free 2-User edition of VistaDB Server in VistaDB .NET, VistaDB VCL and VistaDB COM. This 2-User VistaDB Server improves the performance and data integrity of multi-user applications running on LANs and shared network environments by providing high-speed, secure TCP/IP access to VistaDB .VDB databases.

Developers can build powerful client/server applications that support remote data access over TCP/IP in addition to the native embedded database applications that you have grown to love with VistaDB. To scale your existing applications to client/server requires only 5 lines of code! Simply set the Host, Port, UserName, UserPassword and Database to connect to using the VistaDB Database object (included with .NET, VCL and COM) and your VistaDB applications will now connect to VistaDB Server! The 2-User Edition of VistaDB Server may be distributed freely with no concerns for licensing.

VistaDB 2.0 -- 1-Year Anniversary

This past month marks the 1-year anniversary for VistaDB 2.0 and we are very excited to bring you the very best release of VistaDB ever on this anniversary!
